This hasn't happened directly to me, but I have seen plenty of shared stories on social media and forums. Family members, friends, coworkers, and sometimes strangers passing by ask fiber artists to make them something for little to no value of what their work is worth! It seems to increase during the holiday season, and while some artists will oblige, it's usually only to those they feel are deserving.

You know how when you're reading a recipe online and there's often the option to "lock" your screen open so you don't lose your place? I wish crochet patterns had those. I hate when my phone locks while I'm finishing a row and sometimes will jump back to the top of the page 😡

At some point, friction and the breakdown of threads over time will lead to pilling.

The yarns that pill more often are wool blends and cotton blends with synthetics, some acrylic yarns, and any yarn that is loosely spun together.

Bamboo, 100% cotton, and 100% wool yarns are less likely to pill so easily. Also, thank goodness for anti-pilling acrylics 😅

On some projects I have carried yarn up the side of my work when I had a lot of color changes. It sucks.

The method is supposed to limit excessive yarn cutting AND make it easier to add a border. Neither happened for me. So I will continue to cut and tie my yarn when adding a new color!

Making a whole dress for myself is a big commitment, so I decided to think smaller and make a shirt for my son. Once I've finished the final details, I'll share the fit!
